Per formulare gli auguri di Buona Pasqua, ho scelto un componimento di un autore inglese, George Herbert (1593 – 1633)
Easter Song

I Got me flowers to straw Thy way,
I got me boughs off many a tree;
But Thou wast up by break of day,
And brought’st Thy sweets along with Thee.
The sunne arising in the East,
Though he give light, and th’ East perfume,
If they should offer to contest
With Thy arising, they presume.
Can there be any day but this,
Though many sunnes to shine endeavour?
We count three hundred, but we misse:
There is but one, and that one ever.
Qui di seguito, la mia libera interpretazione
Canto di Pasqua
Io colsi dei fiori per coprirti la strada,
tanti rami io colsi da un albero;
ma sul fare del giorno eri già desto
e doni assai dolci hai portato con te.
Il sole nascente a levante,
sebbene dia luce e l’aroma d’oriente,
potrà mai contestare
la tua Resurrezione gloriosa?
Può esserci un giorno diverso da questo
sebben molti soli brillino assieme?
Tre centinaia noi ne contiamo,
ma uno soltanto ci manca ed è solo quello.
